Another month, time for another haircut. I wish my hair grew as fast and furious as Zane's!
This month:
Zane is becoming more and more independent. This independence is exhausting and will be the death of me, I'm certain.
Zane has named the baby the following: Max, Yoga, Nemo, and Dory. But most of the time her name is just Baby Sister.
Zane loves gymnastics class.
Zane loves nursery, especially singing time. I am the primary chorister and get to come in and sing with the nursery kids. He loves all the songs and the actions and props that go with the songs. I have been practicing the song "Choose the Right Way" at home a lot since I am teaching the primary kids the sign language to go along with it. And I don't know sign language. So I need lots of practice. I started to sing it last week and he told me to stop singing. And then he sang the whole song. Pretty much every word, all by himself. His favorite song is probably Popcorn Popping.
Most of the time Zane can recognize his own written name and Mom and Dad. Steph made Zane a little robot game where you match uppercase and lowercase letters together. He rocks the game with very little assistance. Zane counts up to around 18 or 19 on a regular basis and only skips a few numbers along the way :)
Zane has a crazy-good memory. As he gets more words and his sentences get longer, he reveals just how much he remembers. He will tell me random things that he remembers from October and November of last year. He saw the same hair dryer in Target that my mom owns and told me it was from Grandma's house. He constantly comes up with stuff like this.
Zane gets excited about things that "match". He likes finding things that are the same or similar and exclaiming, "It's a match!".
Zane still has a slight obsession with robots. He owns two different pairs of robot pajamas and has red, brown, green, and orange robot shirts. He's getting a little too big for the brown one and will soon be too big for the red one, but I made sure the orange and green ones were big enough to grow into. Every morning he asks to wear a robot shirt. And now that he has several colors, he will request a specific one.
I moved Zane's clothes from the dresser to a bookcase in his closet to help make room for Baby Sister. There is a nook for pajamas, shirts, pants, church clothes, and winter clothes. Zane is a great sorter and is learning to put his own clothes away. He also takes the opportunity to try on clothes randomly throughout the day. Often, that means a long sleeve shirt that he tries to wear like pants.
I know that Zane will be an amazing big brother. He is such a sweet, funny, smart boy. We love him so much!
