Christmas Eve and Day

I was a total picture slacker on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. I was too busy having fun watching Zane open presents and enjoying spending time with family and eating yummy food.

Christmas Eve:
Christmas Eve, we headed over to Mama and Papa's house for a delicious feast and for opening presents. Zane enjoyed Mama's rocking chair that was her's when she was a little girl.

Then we went down to Grandma and Grandpa Mortensen's house for a nice Christmas program. I stole this picture off my cousin's FB page. I look crazy short here. Our family sang a lovely version of the C is for the Christ Child song. Zane was so very, very done at this point. And Clay doesn't know the words to this song. We did a really great job.

Christmas Morning:

Dad came in at 6 a.m. and tried to get everybody to wake up so we could go down and open presents. The last one to wake up was our little Zane. I have a feeling that this will be the last Christmas where he is the last one up! Everyone waited at the top of the stairs until the grand moment when what Santa brought could be revealed! Zane was so excited!

It was weird for me to be at the bottom of the stairs when everyone else came down. That is definitely a first for me.

Zane got a train set and some pretend-cooking utensils from Santa. He couldn't decide which one to play with first!

Woah, red-eye. Don't feel like fixing it.

Zane was overwhelmed with all of the exciting things he received for Christmas. He is one lucky boy!

Auntie Chelsie got Zane a fun beading kit. So far he just likes to build with the giant beads, but I know that he will be making me beautiful necklaces soon.

Auntie Ashley is in a fashion design class at school so she sewed Zane these awesome dinosaur pajama pants. He wanted to put them on right away.

After opening presents, we headed off to a nice hour of church. I loved all the non-traditional songs that were sung. After church, Mama and Papa, and Dave, Kirsten, and Michael came over for a couple more presents and delicious dinner.

After Christmas:
The night before we left for Phoenix, Mom and I heard bouncing and laughing coming from upstairs. When we got there, we found Ashely teaching Zane how to jump on the bed. Aunties are the best!
