21 Months

Mr. Zane is now a big 'ole twenty-one-month-old. Every month that passes by seems to go so quick.

I haven't measured his height recently, but he is the same height or taller than a few of the three-year-olds in nursery. He weighed in at a whopping 32 pounds at his flu shot appointment last week, though. The boy continues to grow.

He also continues to get smarter and smarter. He reconginzes his name most of the time. He is doing really well with his letters. He knows all the letters and sounds of the lower-case alphabet and has started learning his upper-case letters as well. He has started counting a lot. His counting goes a lot like this:

2,3,3,3,5,7,8,6,8,9

Two to three word sentences are becoming more commonplace. When asking for milk he will say, "Want... milk, please" or "Please, milk".  I love it when I tell him something then clarify by saying, 'ok Zane?" and he responds, "ok, Mom."

My most favorite thing that he says right now is I Love You. That's not actually how he says it. It sounds more like Eye Yuv Oooo 2 ( I love you, too). The emphasis is on the "ooooo". Usually I start by saying, "I love you, Zane" then he responds, "I love you too" and then I respond, "I love you, too." We keep going back and forth in silly monster and whisper voices until we just start laughing. A couple days ago, he actually said "I love you, too" out of the blue. It completely melted my heart.

I'm aware that all of the pictures look the same but I just love his little face and I couldn't narrow it down to just a couple. Since his tantrums are becoming more frequent when things don't go exactly the way he wants them too, I like to have lots of reminders of his mega-watt smile.

It's hard to believe that this little monkey is only a couple more months away from his second birthday. I need to start figuring out a theme and planning!
