Happy Hollow

Continuing on our journey to relive my childhood through my son, we headed to Happy Hollow Park (and Zoo). I put the zoo part in parenthesis because there really isn't too much to brag about on that side of things. We still had fun looking at the three or four animals we did see, and we had a blast over in the park area.

Zane and I climbed up to the top of the stairs of the crooked house. There is still a giant scary-looking metal slide inside, but it is all boarded up now. It was probably a safety hazard back when I was a kid, but I sure loved sliding anyway!

Zane was unsure about his visit with the dragon at first, but quickly warmed up and started playing with it's claws and grabbing at it's teeth.

We all took a ride on the dragon. The girls sat in the very back row. Zane sat with us, cuz he is cute too.

Here is everyody, minus Chelsie who was taking the picture, and Ashley who went to the beach instead of Happy Hollow.

I was concerned about Zane letting me walk away after putting him in the ladybug. I didn't want him to try and crawl out while the ride was in motion.

I needn't have worried. He was as happy as a clam... riding a ladybug. Every time he would swing around, his entourage would yell and wave their arms around and he just loved it.

After the ladybug ride, all he wanted to do was get back on the ride. We went over to the fire/police car ride instead. He was anxious to get in a car as we stood in line.

Can you tell that he was enjoying himself? He is so stinkin cute.

Our last stop before heading home to take naps was the giant playground area.  When Zane climbed to the top of the rock, he started doing this crazy hilarious dance all on his own. He was so proud of himself. And with five adults following him around all day, applauding and cheering, why shouldn't he be?
