Photography Workshop

Last weekend, I attended an all-day photography workshop and shooting safari. I learned how to take my camera from it's cool, easy, auto modes completely into Manual Mode, with stop in "P", "A", & "S" along the way. I am so happy that my camera is finally more than just an expensive, glorified point-and-shoot!

I have been doing photograhpy lessons over Skype with my little sister, who is super interested in learning photography, especially now that she has a nice DSLR as well! I have had a really good time teaching her all of the things that I have learned (not to mention it helps me practice and put into action the things I'm learning).

The following pictures are some of the pictures I took during my workshop. They are all Straight Out Of the Camera (SOOC) with no retouching, crops, or effects.

This cactus was the VERY FIRST picture I have ever taken completely in manual mode. That means I had complete control of every aspect of this picture. I am so happy that you are actually able to see it! Hooray!

Papa sent me this picture today, demonstrating how I showed and interest in photography at an early age. Note the tripod.
On a sidenote: I'm fairly certain, based on the above picture of myself, that this child belongs to me. Wings and all.

  1. Wow, good job! Our digital camera is still an expensive, glorified point-and-shoot. Someday I'll learn to use it!
