We blessed Leila on September 2. We are so lucky to have family willing to travel and share special occasions with us. Moms, Dads, brothers and a sister all got to help us move and be a part of Leila's blessing day.
Someone forgot to charge the camera battery. I blame new baby brain. And mom of a 2-year-old brain. Good thing my mom had her camera in her purse. We ran outside after the blessing for a quick picture of all the family who came. I didn't get any other pictures of the day, unfortunately. I still plan to take pictures of Leila in her blessing dress sometime this week. She looked so beautiful and Clay gave her an amazing blessing. I love that I am married to a man who is worthy of and willing to use his Priesthood. I love him so much.
Leila's blessing day was our last day in the Oakwood ward. I'm glad we only stayed for sacrament meeting. If I had to say goodbye to people individually, I would have been a complete disaster. I know the church is true wherever you go, but we really loved the ward family that we were a part of. The very first Sunday that we attended two years ago, more than one person came up to us and said that they had been praying as a ward for new people and that we were an answer to those prayers. How can you not love a ward that greets you like that? As much as we don't want to go, we know that our new ward holds some exciting things for us and will be exactly what our little family needs at this point in our lives.
Great picture! Thanks for posting.
ReplyDeleteSo glad to see that you had such a nice support system there for the blessing. I can't wait to see Miss Leila's blessing dress. Oh, and Zane cracks me up. He is such a cheezer. We need to get all this hoodlums together. . . it would be chaos : )
