And the Monkey Snatched a Bird

We had the best time at the zoo with Bri and Ashlyn! Before we left, Zane kept talking about going to the "zoom" to see the animals with Auntie Bri and Ashlyn. I love that he calls Bri his 'auntie' all on his own.
We started off with the little foxes. Oh my goodness (one of Zane's favorite phrases) they were so cute!

The tiger was pretty active and fun to watch.

Ashlyn and Zane thought the warthogs were pretty funny to watch. Zane was making a sweet face right before I snapped the picture. Oh well.

Zane loved being so close to the monkeys.

Three peas in a pod.

It was so fun to have Zane point out and name so many of the animals this time. He is growing up so much!

So, instead of watching the elephant eat, Zane and Ashlyn each sat down and played with the dirt instead.

Weirdest thing ever: We watched this monkey walk across the grass and snatch a bird out of the air. He carried it in his hand over to one of the tall poles where he stuck the bird in his foot. He climbs with two arms and one leg up to the top of the pole, then swung across a rope to another pole. That's a bird dangling from his right foot.

Once he got to the platform at the top of this pole the (still flapping) bird was passed back up to his hand where he played with it. It was totally crazy.

Ashlyn preferred the dirt to the goats this time around in the petting zoo. Zane didn't care to get especially close to the goats this time. Funny how kids change as they grow up... no more kissing and licking goats for him!

How cute is Ashlyn? She will make a great daughter-in-law one day.

This couldn't be any more adorable if I posed it myself!

What a dare devil.

Zane completely wore himself out today. He is sleeping peacefully and hopefully the nap is lengthy today.

Thanks Bri for letting us tag along on your zoo pass! We had the best time!
