23 Months

Somehow, our little man turns two at the end of this month. I'm not sure where the time is going.  When I was pregnant with Zane, several wise women told me that the days go slow, but the years go fast. That's for sure!

Zane seems to have grown even more by leaps and bounds this past month. He always has something to say about everything. He is very good at expressing his opinion and will always answer yes or no, depending on exactly what he wants at the time. He likes big words and phrases like "upside down" and "Oh, my goodness" and "bike carwash". We still aren't entirely sure what bike carwash means, but he says it a lot. His favorite place to be is still outside. All of my family members got a nice taste of that when we were in California and Zane constantly asked to go outside. That is certainly where he is happiest.

Zane is good at kicking a ball. He got a soccer ball and net for Christmas from my brother and Zane has loved kicking the ball into the net. He likes to help me look both ways for cars when we cross the street. When a car stops and lets us cross, Zane waves and says "thank you". He is getting so good at using his manners without being asked. Clay and I had a proud parent moment yesterday when the nursery leaders told us that Zane said thank you every time they handed him something. He is doing pretty well at counting by rote. He can get to three, needs to be reminded of four, then can go up to ten. If you remind him of eleven, he can pretty well get up to twenty. Sometimes the teen numbers are hard to understand, but he really likes numbers. Counting actual objects, he can do up to three on his own.

We loved that we were blessed to have Zane be a part of our family. He definately keeps us on our toes, and always keeps us laughing!
