Park Date

Today we headed out for a picnic with Bri and Ashlyn at the park. It has been in the 70's here the past couple days, down from 100 on Monday. I love Phoenix in the fall. While we would normally wear shorts in 70 degree weather, a 30-40 degree drop over only a couple days is pretty drastic, so we wore pants and long sleeves today. Sad, huh? Zane even had snow boots on this morning when he went out on the patio to play with his ball pit and trucks. I know, I know, but it was 51 degrees outside. That's downright cold!

We had delicious sandwiches for lunch. I was biting off pieces of my nectarine for Zane to eat, but when I wasn't looking, he had snatched it off the table and started chowing down. He made a nice sticky mess, but he almost ate it down to the pit. Yum.

Zane was so happy to see Ashlyn. She is one of his favorite friends. Since he has had so many aunties around the past couple of months, he even adressed Bri as Auntie Bri today. Funny boy.

Ashlyn is such a beautiful, sweet little girl.

Zane was so happy to be outside. We both love it when the weather cools down.

Zane still loves swings so much. And I love that he has a dirt goatee from nectarine juice and sand.

We tried out the bouncing animals. Zane kept a close eye behind him.

He made sure that Ashlyn was staying securely on her horse. What a gentleman.

Then Ashlyn tried to help Zane climb up the stairs. She kept trying to hold his hand. Since he has been around so many cousins recently, he is really becoming more aware of other kids and is starting to interact more with them. It's so fun to watch.

Eventually Zane got brave and made it down the slide. We are going to soak up the nice weather that the next six months will bring with them. Hooray for fall.
