Granny Lisa gave Zane his cool swim vest back when he was about 4 months old. Since Zane wants to be so independent in the water, we thought we would try it out.
Look at those muscles. If he is ever a super hero for Halloween, I know what to put under his costume.
For some reason, he backed into the water this time. And he wouldn't let go of the green shovel.
The swim vest is definately still a little too big. But it helped him to have a little more confidence in his floating skills. We were actually able to let go of him for a couple seconds and he would float.
He learned how to tread water and stay afloat all in one trip to the pool! Or he was standing on my leg. Believe what you want to.
The vest kept riding up his face, even with the crotch-strap, so we finally just took it off and played without it. A couple times he felt brave enough to launch himself out of our arms and try to swim. He kept trying to get that ball. It belonged to some other kids, so we didn't let him have it. But he sure tried to best to get at it. Good thing he isn't afraid of going under the water.
Eventually he was done and wanted to get out. He climbed up on one of the deck loungers and Clay kept splashing him.
Happiness is lounging on a deck chair, wrapped up like a taco.
