What's Med School Good For?

Why, Easter Egg Hunts, of course!

The physician's assistant program at Midwestern put together a really great Easter celebration last weekend.

There were different grassy hunting areas for the different age groups. Of course, Zane's age group had the most children. We tried passing him off as a 9-year-old, but that didn't go over very well.

This picture is in the wrong place chronologically, but what can you do? There was a very patient PA student inside this bunny costume. Zane was so excited to sit on his lap. This was the only picture I got of him where he was looking up. In all the other pictures, he was looking down at the bunny's paw and petting it.

It was really difficult to keep Zane from running onto the grass and picking up eggs before it was time. Those cheaters behind us were actually just crossing the grass to get into a more prime spot.

Zane loved shaking each egg, then putting it into his bucket. Yes, our fancy schmancy Easter Bucket.

"Wait a second... there's things INSIDE the eggs???"

Zane had a huge grin on his face the whole day. He's so stinkin cute.

Lucy, whose dad is in the dental program, showed up a couple of minutes after the hunt was over. I had her mom distract her while I hid half of Zane's eggs for her.

Of course Clay went through the eggs first and made sure to keep the candy that he wanted to eat.

We decorated a very beautiful Easter cookie.

And then the boys got down to business. Clay tried to teach Zane how to play basketball. All Zane wanted to do was hold as many balls as possible at once.

Then kick the basketball around the court.  He's quite talented.

We had a blast playing with friends and enjoying a relaxing day. The best part was running into people from our last ward that we hadn't seen since we moved to our apartment last summer. I love the community of families of all different medical disciplines that Midwestern fosters. We are trying to get all of Clay's siblings to come out here... We'll see you at next year's party, right guys?
