My son may look a lot like me, but he certainly has his dad's build. After his 15-month check up today, here are the stats:
Height: 33 inches 90th Percentile
Weight: 27 pounds, 8 oz. 90th Percentile
Zane's vocabulary is expanding like crazy. Although some are repeats from last month, some of his current words are: Mom, Dad, puppy, hi, ball, car, bubbles, Jesus, no, yeah, milk, water, light, bear, balloon, teeth, book, hair, rocks, thank you, it's good (like the chipmunk on Enchanted), button, why, what's that?
When he sees a dog, real, drawn, or on TV, he says, "Pup, woof woof". When he sees an elephant he tries to say the word, then makes a trumpeting sound with his mouth. When he sees anything that he thinks might growl, like a lion, tiger, dinosaur, or giraffe, he growls.
He can identify his hair, ears, nose, eyes, cheeks, teeth, tounge, belly and toes. We are working on chin, knees and shoulders right now.
His most favorite things right now are (in no particular order): balls, rocks, airplanes, teeth, toothbrushes, toes, and being outside.
When you ask him either "Do you want to go for a ride?" or "Do you want to go for a walk?" he squeals, waves his hands in the air and runs to the gate at the top of the stairs. If you take too long getting there, he gets impatient and starts to throw a tantrum. Fun.
When you ask where Zane is, he puts both hands on his chest and say "Zzhhhhaaaee" which is his word for his own name.
He is figuring out how to run. It is still pretty funny to watch. He is a little crooked and off balance. He has also been dancing a lot more recently. One of these days I need to get it on video. It has to make him dizzy because he stomps his feet up and down, waves his hands in the air, and shakes and rolls his head back and forth and around. Apparently his inherited his daddy's dance moves along with his height.
Three more months until he goes to nursery. Oh, that will be a glorious day.
