9 Months!

My little Buster-Roo turns 9 months old in a couple of days! I don't have any official stats for you since we are in California and have to postpone our well-baby appointment until he is ten month old. However, my grandpa likes numbers and likes to track Zane's growth and progress so we measured him while at his house a few days ago. Zane weighs in at about 21 (more or less) pounds, and is 29 1/2 inches tall. My grandpa looked it up and let me know that is the 90th percentile for both height and weight. Zane is certainly his father's son!

As far as milestones, Zane has three teeth all the way in, and is currently working on two more on top. I can't believe that in the next couple of days he'll have five teeth! He is crawling around everywhere at top speed. He also enjoys climbing over any obstacles that he comes across. He picks up absolutely everything and first bangs it on the ground a few times, then shoves it into his mouth.

Zane has also recently started to try to whistle. He loves it when people whistle to him, and he likes to form his mouth into the shape of an "O" and blow. Sometimes he even gets some noise out! Often, he will make this face without anyone whistling to him and he ends up just looking surprised!

He pulls himself up to standing on pretty much anything that will hold his weight. In the last few days, his confidence has gotten a little ahead of him and he lets go and tries to walk, but ends up face-planting on the floor. He's tenderhearted when it comes to loud noises, but bumping into things and falling down doesn't phase him much.

Zane is starting to attach his babbling of 'momomomomom' and 'dadadad' to me and Clay. It's not super consistent, but he has done it on more than one occasion. He also waves bye-bye now when prompted.

He is such a little love! Since we have been at my parents' houses in California, he has become even more of a mama's boy, but is slowly starting to get comfortable with his new surroundings. We Skype with Clay every day, and Zane gets so excited and starts to paw the computer screen every time he sees Daddy! It is so adorable and makes my heart melt. A little less than three weeks until we get to see Daddy again!

Here are some of his pictures I took today in the backyard. I haven't decided which one is going to go up on the left side of the blog yet. (Let me know which one you like!) I am a little biased, but I just love them all! The first two are just ones that I thought were super cute, even though he isn't smiling. In the second picture, Zane is making his whistling face. He was LOVING playing in the dirt!
