The drive from Monticello to Blanca, CO took forever and a year. Our GPS said that our average speed from Monticello to Chama, New Mexico was about 34 MPH. The roads were terrible. Since we were making such horrible time, we decided to sleep in Chama. Our motel was full of New Mexican Charm... including a tiny shower, a cool walk-in closet and some hanging chili peppers.

Once we left Chama, the roads were clear but the snow was piled up extremely high on the sides of the road. It was a very lovely drive.

These cabins were buried in the snow. There were snowmobile tracks going to and from them but I am not sure how they were able to get inside the cabins.

FINALLY! Mt. Blanca comes into view. My grandparents live at the base of this giant mountain!
