Little Fish

Zane started swimming lessons through the city last week. The first week was definitely an adjustment period. Magically, the second week has been great! Good thing we have at least four more weeks of lessons to get even better! Depending on our schedule, I'd like to sign up for more. It's only $15 for each 2-week session. Can't beat that!

One of his benchmarks is being able to swim 20 feet, unassisted in a life vest. He's getting more and more comfortable in the deeper water.

He's in a class with three other little boys. Their teacher, Bennett is great with them. He calls them his league of superheros.  When he asked each boy what superhero they wanted to be, the other boys answered things like Batman and Spiderman. What was Zane's superhero, you ask? Mr. Squishy Ball. That's our boy.

I can't tell you how happy it makes me to see this boy smiling during his lessons. The first two days, he cried pretty much the whole lesson. The third day was half of the lesson. The fourth day, he cried for about two minutes. Monday, he walked right over to his teacher with a smile. Makes my momma heart proud.

I love how proud of himself he is at the end of each day. He knows that he is doing awesome. And he knows that he is doing things that make him nervous. He is so happy about his achievements. I love that!

  1. Isn't it great that Zane's turning into a swimmer? He looks like he's really enjoying it now.
