Mr. Zane is closer to three than two! Wowza!
A list of favorites:
Color: Red, followed by pink because it is almost red
Number: Not 4... not sure why, he just told me the other day he didn't like the number 4
Person: Clay. Followed by Babe. That's me. He is convinced that's my name since that's what Clay calls me. He will not be persuaded otherwise.
Show: Caillou on PBS. Unfortunately, the whiny, bald 4-year-old isn't allowed in our house anymore. Caillou's favorite phrase "I don't want to" caught on a little too quickly for my taste. Curious George runs a close second. That little monkey (George, not Zane) doesn't have a problem with whining so I don't have a problem with him!
Song: Ohno-nawfi. That would be Benjamin Calypso from Joseph....Technicolor Dreamcoat. Judah sings "Oh no, not he!" several times during the song. Zane requests this song over and over when we are in the car. He loves watching a video of it on YouTube on the iPad and even acts out the song at the most interesting times. I hear cups slamming on the floor all day long. Click the video link to see what I'm talking about: Benjamin Calypso
Place to sleep: His big boy bed! Hip Hip Hooray! We expected a much crazier transition as we moved to our new house last weekend and he completely let go of the crib. We needn't have worried. He has been going to bed like a dream for the past week. Most nights he still wakes up once but that is a far cry from the 4-5 times he had been waking up. He goes right back to sleep after being tucked back in. His stoplight clock is doing a marvelous job of keeping him in bed until at least 6:30 every morning. We like that a whole lot better than when he was waking up around or before 5:00 in the morning and refusing to go back to bed.
Sister: Leila Clare. A good friend had a baby a couple weeks ago. When we told Zane that Will was going to have a baby sister that day, he got really concerned and told us that he wanted to keep Leila here and that he didn't want a new baby sister. Apparently he was concerned that we were going to trade his sister in for a newer model. Sweet boy.

That is funny that he calls you Babe. I call Nate the same thing so most of the time Bryn calls him "Babe" or "Mr. Burk" (Nate taught her that one! : )
ReplyDeleteCute! I didn't know that Zane was such a Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat fan! ... I was in that musical once back in the day.
