Our Sandbox and Pretty Grass

I use the word "sandbox" loosely. We have a sand volleyball court in our apartment complex. Whenever we go for walks and we happen to pass by, Zane yells "SAND! SAND! SAND!"
We have adopted the court as our own personal sandbox and we visit as often as possible.

Our winter grass is growing in quite nicely. For those not familiar, we have to plant grass a couple times a year around these parts. The summer grass isn't lovely, but at least it is somewhat green in the wretchedly hot months. The winter grass, however, is the stuff that botanical dreams are made of. It is thick, lush, and beautiful dark green. To get it to grow in, the sprinklers are on all day long in short spurts. This makes for slightly muddy ground. Which makes for a very happy toddler. That's mud on the end of his finger that he is happily showing me.... very close to my face.

Zane started to get some of his last set of molars a few weeks ago. The drool fountain wouldn't turn off. He has taken a break from the drooling for now, which is nice.

Look at his eyes! They are still trying to decide what color they want to be. Most of the time they are still a dark bluish-grey. Whatever color they end up, they are gorgeous!

I also love these enormous feet. Sometimes Zane runs on his tiptoes and it couldn't be any cuter.

The sand was a little wet from the sprinklers, and Zane couldn't figure out how he felt about it. Usually the sand comes right off but the sticky sand was new. He kept coming over to show me his sand-covered paws.

And finally, Zane likes to play leapfrog across the electrical covers.

Oh, and if you are thinking that the grass isn't nearly as beautiful as I was describing earlier in the post, this was a couple of weeks ago when it was first starting to come in. If only you could see it now! Maybe I will just have to go take some pictures of it when Zane wakes up so you can enjoy it too.  Oh grass, how I love thee.
