10 Months Handsome Boy

I finally was able to take Zane's official 10-month picture. We have been to the doctor too many times in the last couple of days, getting poked like crazy, so Zane hasn't been too keen on smiling in pictures. Everything is fine, they were just doing routine lead and anemia testing, but the poor kid has my veins and so they had a hard time drawing blood. We had to go back yesterday to dig around again, and they finally found one good enough to do what they needed to do.

His doctor's appointment went well.  He is 25 pounds now, holding strong in the 90th percentile for weight. No wonder my back hurts when I carry him around too much. The nurse measured him at 28 3/4 inches long, putting him in the 75th percentile. I'm fairly sure he is taller than that. She didn't stretch him all the way out when she was making her markings to measure. His head circumference has finally caught up to the rest of his body. He has been consistently in the 50th percentile, but is now in the 90th percentile. Big brainy boy!

When we left for California about six weeks ago, Zane had three teeth. As of this morning, he has eight. Two of them have just barely broken through, but the are definitely there!

Zane is so happy to be home! We expected that he would have forgotten over such a long time, but he has been soooo happy and less clingy since we have been home. He is just happy to crawl off to his bedroom and play with his toys. He is also starting to get quite a sense of humor. He thinks that everything that Clay and I do is funny. He also finds himself (and all the fun noises he makes) hilarious. He is standing up by himself without support more and more and should be walking soon. We just love our sweet boy so much!
